Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that works to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing for people in need. The organization operates on the principle of "a hand up, not a handout" and follows a unique model to achieve its goals. Once selected, our Partner Families embark on a collaborative journey with Habitat. They actively participate in the construction of their new home, working alongside volunteers and skilled professionals. These families contribute "sweat equity” by investing 300+ hours into the building process, which fosters a sense of ownership and community. Habitat Partner Families also attend homeownership education classes or workshops to enhance their knowledge and skills related to budgeting, home maintenance, and financial management. In addition, Habitat offers a 0% interest loan to allow homeowners to pay an affordable monthly mortgage.
